N Y L O N 10th Anniversary

One of my all-time favorite magazines, NYLON, is celebrating it's ten-year anniversary this month! Lindsey Lohan graces the cover, with the caption: "Lindsey Lohan, a pin-up for the new era." Personally, I like Lindsey Lohan; a guilty addiction, I can not explain. This magazine has an independent/new age flare. It has the latest and greatest of fashion, beauty, and music while never ceasing to make a statement.

Urban Dictionary

Some time ago, I went on urbandictionary.com and read entries about different schools early in my college application process. I read the entry about Boston University and had a mixed reaction to it.
So, it's a rainy day and I'm doing stuff inside my room when it came across my mind again. I just looked it up to see if it was accurate, considering I almost have a year done at BU.
A lot of the things they wrote are a bit exaggerated, but in my honest opinion, I think it's
true for the most part. It's funny to read, because it easy for me to name people that fit the stereotypical "Boston University student." Of course, everything written there is a generalization, but it's pretty true. If you want to read the three pages of "definitions," click here.

femmebot, yeo.

Satanic technology strikes again. Japan just unveiled their new female robot. "She's" pretty lifelike looking. She's what they call a "cybernetic human." "She"-I really hate calling this robot "she;" therefore, I will continue to use quotes. "She" can talk, smile, and walk. Originally, they planned for "her" to be a fashion model, but apparently they're even hating on female bolt-age. They said "she's" too fat and short. I just realized my inner cynic is all over this post. I am done now. (*haha)
On a side note, my aunt's friend was the first person to be operated on by a robot. She had a heart surgery.

My sanguine of yesterday and today is even beginning to make me sick; however, I must not turn back to the cynic deprecate of yesteryear. I will leave that role up to the brilliant, beautiful men I'm attracted to. My taste is so so odd and detrimental; My ideal man is a smoker who's cynical, observant, consciously garbed, and mysterious. He's an intelligent "badass." Anyway, this attempt to change my ways and reinvent myself-if you will, are going well.

dilema, dilema.

There's somehing that brings humans together: problems. Everyone has their own problems, big or small. Some people think that others are perfect, but that's because they hide what's bothering them or they deal with it in a less obvious way. Everyone has problems-that's what life's about. I'm starting to think that this idea is true. I'm not saying it in a pessimistic way, but it is a universal link. Have you ever sat on a train and looked at the seemingly perfect girl sitting there-she has problems. Or the man reading the Times with his Rolex-he has problems. Even people with outwardly miniscule lives have problems.
It's hard, but we all need to learn how to deal with them. I think that it's important that everyone figure out a postitive way to do so. I notice that the best way to start this process is to write down all the problems that you have. Next to each problem, check off whether the problem is in your control or not. Then check off whether it's permanent or not. After doing this, you'll probably notice that most of the problems that are darkening your days are things that can be fixed by next season. Sometimes organization is the best way to begin to clean up your life. I'm beginning to notice that changing your environment and decluttering your space can make you feel much better.
Sometimes the best ways to help your mentality are to do art, listen to music, exercise, sing, dance, play sports, talk to someone, journal, read, or start a project. I'm looking at my Spring Break as a hiatus from all the things that are causing me to go crazy. I plan to organize my mess, create a plan for the future, and learn to be happier.
